  • Introduction

  • In order for one to be financially secured, they must have an occupation, preferably one which they are good at. To discover an occupation you would be good at, you would probably want to know what you are good at. This is where multiple intelligences come in. Just like everyone else, I have my own personal strong intelligences, which are intrapersonal intelligence, self intelligence, and body intelligence. I will be further analyzing these intelligences and how they suit me, as well as 5 possible occupations.
  • What is Multiple Intelligence?
  • Multiple intelligence is the theory that intelligence cannot be measured just off IQ, because even if someone has a low IQ, they will have have other areas of intellectual strength. These intelligences include: musical, verbal, visual, logical, bodily, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and moral intelligence.
  • Interpersonal intelligence describes how well someone can understand and interact with others. This can be demonstrated through their ability to maintain relationships and generally understand someone else’s emotions and motivations behind their actions.
  • My strongest area of intelligence is interpersonal intelligence, which I received a 75% on the multiple intelligences test. This means that I have a strength in understanding and interacting with others effectively. I know that I have this intelligence because I don’t get nervous around a large group of people, even if I am in the spotlight. This has proven to be true multiple times, one example being during presentations. Many people experience stage fright during a presentation, but I don’t mind the idea of speaking about something to a large group of people. This shows that I am comfortable around others, but I think I also have a strength in understanding other people. For example, as a kid, I would sometimes be able to tell if my parents were hiding emotions, based off small cues that I would pick up on.
  • Intrapersonal intelligence describes one’s ability to analyze their strengths and weaknesses effectively. Someone who is intrapersonally intelligent will also have a good understanding of their emotions and motivations.
  • My second strongest area of intelligence is interpersonal intelligence, in which I received a 72% on the multiple intelligences test. This means that I am generally aware of my feelings and motivations, and I also tend to reflect on myself often. I can confirm that I have a strength in intrapersonal intelligence because I am often interested in learning more about myself, like taking an IQ test for example. I also demonstrate intrapersonal intelligence after receiving something like a test back. When I receive a form of marking or feedback, I usually think about it for the rest of the day and what I could have done better, but I don't let it disappoint too much either.
  • Intrapersonal intelligence describes one’s ability to analyze their personal strengths and weaknesses. Someone who is intrapersonally intelligent will also have a strength in generally being aware of their emotions and motivatioms.
  • Kinaesthetic intelligence describes one’s ability to engage in physical work or activities with a high degree of effectiveness. This includes things like sports and hands on activities. Someone who excels in kinaesthetic intelligence will often have great physical control and coordination, as well as having a kinaesthetic learning style.
  • My third strongest area of intelligence is kinaesthetic-body intelligence, in which I received a 69%. This means that I generally prefer to do things physically, and that I have good control and coordination of my physical actions. I know that I have kinaesthetic intelligence because I find it difficult to sit still for a long period of time. For example, I don’t like going to movie theatres, and I find it hard to stay engaged with the story. Even when I am sitting still for a long period of time, I usually fidget with something nearby.
  • My third strongest area of intelligence is kinaesthetic intelligence.
  • Kinaesthetic intelligence describes one’s ability to perform physical actions effectively. This includes things like sports and hands on activities. Someone with a strong sense of kinaesthetic intelligence will excel in physical coordination and physical control
  • Therapist
  • Being a therapist would strongly suit my areas of intelligence, specifically interpersonal intelligence, because my strongest area of intelligence is interpersonal intelligence. Being a therapist is closely related to interpersonal intelligence because in a therapy session, the therapist must first understand how the client feels and what their motivations are in order to have a successful therapy session. All of these things require strong interpersonal intelligence, which means that if you have a strength in interpersonal intelligence, being a therapist would be a highly suitable job. Also, I do have interest in being a therapist, because I enjoy thinking about how people think and what their motives are.
