- After several battles, Bulgaria and the Ottomans surrendered, by this time the Germans were starving and food was not reaching them, so they had to sign an armistice agreement to end the war.
- What happened next?
- This treaty began with the league of nations. It also obliged Germany to pay a certain amount of money to the Allies and allowed Germany to maintain a small army.
- This Treaty also required that Germany accept full responsibility for causing the war; make reparations to some Allied countries, and limit the size of its military. This treaty was called the Treaty of Versailles

- But over time Germany stopped liking the treaty.
- Germany brought Adolf Hitler to power in 1933, and not even the League of Nations could stop him. His actions led to World War II.
