That's an excellent question! In Canada, there are dozens of different political parties, but we'll be exploring the main federal ones.
Like the liberals, who were our last party in charge. Their current leader candidate, Mark Carney, believes in compassion and ethics, as well as a "fair balance between social justice and economy".

They're in the middle of the political scale, but a little to the left. Conservatives, on the other hand, currently led by Pierre Poilievre, are a right-wing party.
They're mainly focused on tradition, authority and structure. They value "responsible management of taxpayer money", as well as a clear understanding of the responsibilities of a government.
They're the Liberal party's opposition and main rival, as they're the two parties that have held power the most.

Jonathan Pedneault leads the Green Party of Canada. They focus on environmentalism primarily. They're promising to invest the largest amount since 1970 in affordable housing.
Cutting fossil fuels entirely, and strengthening the universal healthcare system is also part of their campaign.
