It sure can be! If I were you, I'd invest in a sea wall, or a groin - a long and narrow pile of rocks made to keep sand on the shore

Well they are two kinds of protection to two issues;
The sea wall is to protect your house from large waves that can carry your whole house away!
A groin will help save your house from the effects of erosion - it is a process that removes sediment du to weathering, and waves rom the ocean cause major erosion!
