- Hi! I'm Eli, a frontline worker. Today I'll be showing you my story.
- Eli - is brave, passionate, hardworking, and selfless.
- In 2019, Eli just like other nurses, was challenged day by day during the pandemic. In addition to the fear of contracting the virus oneself, nurses also noted the stress caused by the restrictions imposed by the pandemic. After long exhausting shifts working with critically ill and dying patients, nurses suffered additionally from having to isolate themselves from their loved ones.
- But that did not stop Eli from being passionate about her job and respond to her calling and be truthful to her oath. She never planned to quit her job. Everyday she would make sacrifices. In everything she would do, she'd put the most effort into it to help people as much as she can.
- One day while Eli was working, she suddenly felt unwell. She fell on the ground while she was cleaning up. Luckily, her co-worker saw her and helped her. When she woke up, she took a test to check if she has the disease, and the results were a positive. She had to stay at home for a while to recover. She felt unhappy she couldn't go to work and help people who were also ill. The disease made her very ill so she had no choice but to stay home and recover.
- Thankfully, after a few weeks, she had completely recovered from the disease. She went back to working as usual and the cases were also starting to lower.
- 3 years had passed, they've found a cure and vaccines for the disease. Thanks to the other frontline workers, they have accomplished a lot and helped a big part in the pandemic. Eli is proud that she stayed to help and didn't leave her job during the days where everyone needed people like her.
