- In the beginning of the story, Hamlet finally finds out the truth about his father's death due to the ghost of the king. The ghost tells Hamlet to get revenge.
- Claudius advises Hamlet to no longer be grieve about his father's death and that Hamlet needs to accept that he is the new king now
- Hamlet goes to have a conversation with his mother about all the madness going on and hears Polonius behind the curtain and stabs him and Polonius dies
- Claudius sends Hamlet overseas as an escape for not punishing him however, Claudius is secretly planning a way to kill Hamlet without anyone knowing
- Ophelia cannot live with the death of her father and goes around singing about death. She eventually goes to a pond after talking to Claudius and drowns in the pond surrounded by flowers
