- There is a lot of poverty and diseases in Congo. :(
- Analysis
- They could've have done many things to prevent the instability in Congo.
- Former colonial policies and boundaries had created intense conflicts among numerous ethnic and religious groups, many countries struggled to become independent nations. The Congo was one of them. The Congo struggled to peacefully make a transition to self-government.
- Conclusion
- The republic of The Congo struggled to successfully shift to self-rule. It took Congo around 52 years to gain independence in the 1960s. "Prior to gaining independence Congo was brutally controlled by the Belgium colonists. The colonists viciously took over Congo and spared few people. Anyone who cried for independence was slain." Congo had no government system so it ran into many problems when they became an independent country.

- Many people died as a result of the violence that erupted in The Congo after it gained independence, and they could have saved lives by telling everyone to stay calm and perhaps have everything sorted out and planned before anyone could get hurt. They could do so by deploying military forces to the area to protect people in danger. They should have chosen a leader right away because they had no system of governing or anything like that so if things were getting out of hand they could deal with them right away.
- African nations were very dependent on others, so it was challenging for them when they shifted to self-rule. African countries were reliant on Western economies. "In some cases, this led to innovation, but the many challenges that African states faced at independence were often compounded by the lack of experienced leadership." Yes, The Congo still has many problems from when it went independent. It is still one of the poorest countries in the world, and it has numerous illnesses there.
