Christof speaks directly to him, trying to manipulate him.
Christof's ethos tries to impose itself: he presents himself as a paternal figure, like a god who has protected Truman.
Christof: "I know you're scared. The world out there is just as fake as this one."
Truman: "Who are you?"
"I am the creator… of the program, and of you."
"You didn't create anything real!"

Christof: "Truman, please… stay."
Truman's ethos reaches its peak: he demonstrates his independence, breaks his chains and chooses his destiny.
Truman: "In case I never see you again... good morning, good afternoon, and good night.
Christof's ethos collapses: he loses his control over Truman and his "perfect world."
He steps away from the set and into the unknown.
