I am not mad, Sir Topas
Fool, I’ll requite it in the highest degree
Maria encourages Feste to dress up as Sir Topas to continue playing tricks on Malvolio. Feste accepts and tells Malvolio that he has come to talk with him about his madness and treats him as if he were mad.
Malvolio protests and argues that he is not mad and that it is dark in his cell, but Feste as Sir Topas keeps on playing with him. Sir Toby on the other end, starts to feel uncomfortable and wants the joke to end. He thinks they have done enough harm.
Feste is now alone but continues to trick Malvolio, but this time, he pretends that he is having a discussion with Feste (a Feste - Sir Topas discussion). Malvolio asks for paper, light and ink to write a letter to Olivia. After having teased him a little longer, Feste finally accepts to do as he is asked and Malvolio promises that he will favor him once this story is done.
