Prologue/ Opening
Who are you?! What do you want?
During midnight, two sentinels, Bernardo and Francisco, along with Horatio spot the Ghost of King Hamlet at Elsinore Castle. Later, the guards decide to alert Prince Hamlet, the son of the deceased king and their experience with the Ghost. Hamlet decides to investigate the Ghost and demands answers.

Conflict
Take revenge Son! For your father!
Answer me now! What do you want?
The Ghost reveals that he was murdered by poisoning from the current king, Claudius, to seize take control of the throne. Hamlet is conflicted and unsure whether the Ghost is truly his father’s spirit or the devil in disguise leading him into sin. He struggles with whether to trust the discovery or see it as dangerous. He keeps it secret, deceiving others and pretending to be mad towards those, such as his love Ophelia and her father Polonius, to investigate the King.

Rising Action
I WILL take the throne!
Hamlet investigates King Claudius' behavior by acting as if he is mad. Conflicted about whether King Claudius poisoned his father, Hamlet stages a play called "The Mousetrap" to see Claudius' reaction to the poisoning. Once the killing occurs in the play, Claudius stands and is in shock, revealing his guilt to Hamlet. After, Hamlet goes to his mother, the Queen, but the confrontaion ends with the death of Polonius, Ophelia's father.
