Political Cartoon 1: When european settlers came into africa, they were various causes for their arrival. Europeans believed that their nations were the best and above all, which is known as nationalism, and because of that, they had to grow their lands as much as possible in various ways. No matter the cost. They also had a missionary spirit, which was to spread christianity all over the world, and were competing with other nations, so they had to go to Africa to get more resources. They didn't want to miss out on anything in Africa and have another state grab it. My cartoon reflects what the perspective of Europeans was, which included their missionary spirit and nationalism. We can also see how europeans are taking advantage of the land economicaly, getting resources to be better competitiors in the economy.
Political Cartoon 2: Europeans went to africa to improve the economic situation of their country back home. By going to africa, they could get more resources to utilize in trade, which got them more money. Colonization was also a result of imperialism, nations hurried to africa to take control. In the image we see how something tied to africa in the minds of europeans was money. They even got into conflict and used guns to achieve the economic satisfaction they desired.
