- This is our new homeland.
- The Jewish owned the land of Israel. They have owned this land for over 4,000 years. The Romans kicked them out of their own land through famine and persecution.
- British needed Arab to defeat the Ottomans in early 1900s. So the British promised the Arab their own state. When the Ottoman supported Germany and were defeated in WW1, Ottoman empire collapsed in 1918. The British took control of Palestine and the Arabs felt betrayed.
- Some parts of Palestine were given for the Jews due to the Antisemitism and Zionism spreading in Europe. This was a law signed in the Balfour Declaration in 1917.
