Hamlet and laertes are having a "friendly" fencing battle. The king put the pearl in the goblet so the drink is posinous, but this is the back up plan in case laertes cant kill hamlet. So far hamlet is winning but laertes is not going to give up.
The queen notices hes out of breath and offers her handkerchief to hamlet to wipe any sweat off him. He thanks her and she takes his the goblet and drinks in his honor. The king yelled at her not to drink it and she told him she could drink whatever she pleases and continues to drink out of the cup.
After drinking the drink Hamlet and Laertes want to continue fighting but the queen collasped and they shout how the drink was poisined. The kind tried seperating hamlet and laertes, but they both get wounded by the poisned sword. Laertes feels so angered because he feels traped in his own trap and ends up dying with the queen.
