"O, no, a lantern, slaughtered youth, for here lies Juliet, and her beauty makes this vault a feasting presence, full of light" (V, iii, 84-86)
Tybalt, is that you?
Romeo agrees to open the tomb and lay Paris in the tomb with Juliet.
Oh, Juliet, you are still so beautiful, even in death! Should I believe that you are actually dead, and that you will be in this tomb forever?
Romeo takes Paris into the tomb and sees Juliet. He notices that she is still very beautiful, saying that her beauty fills the tomb with light. Light and dark images are used many times throughout the play.
"Here, here I will remain with worms that are thy chambermaids" (V,iii, 108-109).
Romeo notices Tybalt, who is also in the Capulet's monument.
"Eyes, look your last! Arms, take your last embrace! And, lips, O you the doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss a dateless bargain to engrossing death!" (V, iii, 112-155)
Romeo has difficulty believing that Juliet is dead, and will be dead forever.
Romeo swears that he will never leave Juliet, and will stay in the tomb forever.
Romeo prepares to die.
