- Exposition: Lennie and George are two Migrant workers that had two leave their old farm and now have to look for a new job. They have many differences in their look and their character. Lennie has a learning disability and George is a normal person that looks after him
- Foreshadowing: Lennie has a learning disability and furthermore always has to touch soft things. Therefore he always kills mice. George tells him to stop petting mice but Lennie is addicted to it and can't stop doing it
- Rising Action: Curley starts attacking Lennie because he laughed at him. Lennie doesn't want to fight back until George tells him to. Then he grabs Curley's hand and brakes him.
- When Lennie tries to pet a dog he accidently kills him because of his addiction and his power. This is another rising action which then leads to the climax shortly after it when he kills Curley's wife because of his addiction. Can also seen as Foreshadowing
- The highest point of action occours when Lennie finds Curley's wifes hair so soft that he dosen't want to led go. We she tries to get rid of him he accidently kills her, which can be seen as the climax of the story.
- In the falling action Lennie runs away from the farm while all other men chase him. George finds him before the other ones so he decides to shoot Lennie to save him a lot of pain. Furthermore Lennie would have died anyway so George decided to just quickly end it, which is the end of he story.
