Ananias went to the House of Judas where the Lord had instructed him to go. Ananias placed his hands on Saul and restored his sight, where scales fell from his eyes. Saul got baptized, ate food, and regained his strength.

Saul, my brother, the Lord has sent me, Jesus who appeared to you on the way by which you came, that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus, where he preached in the synagogues that Jesus was the Son of God and the Messiah. The Jews learned of this and got confused of his new actions, conspiring to kill him. However, Saul knew about this plan and got hidden in a basket through an opening in a wall from them.

Saul tried to join the disciples, but because of his past, they were scared and didn't trust him. Barnabas told the story about his encounter with Jesus from heaven, and ended up staying with them. The Hellenistic Jews still planned to kill Saul, so the followers of Saul sent him to Tarsus for his safety.
