  • Hunter and Gathering Societies 12,000 years ago
  • Horticultural Societies 10,000 years ago
  • Pastoral Societies10,000 years ago
  • The Bushmen of southern Africa are a current example of a hunter-gatherer community. They were migratory, which meant they had to follow their food source. While the men hunted, the women gathered vegetation. Where they could, the elderly and young participated. Hunters and gatherers had a mystic, or religious guide, who was more powerful but still had to forage for food.
  • Agricultural Society10,000 years ago
  • The Samoans, an indigenous people of the South Pacific, are a current example of a horticulture society. People began to raise crops with hand tools. Food production rose, and the population grew as a result. Communities were formed by these groups. Not everybody had to work because of the resource excess. Inequality in society was a bigger problem. They solely trusted in one God.
  • Industrial Societies 1750 A.D.
  • The Bedouin people of Saudi Arabia are a current example of a pastoral society. These cultures were still migratory. The privileged were the individuals who wielded power. Pastoral societies likewise believed in a specific God and thought God was personally concerned in the world's well-being.
  • Postindustrial Societies1973 A.D.
  • The Amish are a modern-day farming community. The plough, drainage, literature, and metals tools were all invented during this time. Farms grew in size, implying more food and a rise in population. Jobs ranging from farmer to builder were now available. Bartering was supplanted by money. It was the height of social inequity. The majority of the populace, whether slaves or peasants, were left to perform the labor. Men had societal power, while women were relegated to supporting roles.
  • China in the Twenty-First Century. People began using steam boilers to power their machines. Skyscrapers, vehicles, and other modern "comforts" were introduced. Because men and women left their homes in search of work, family is no longer at the core of labor, study, or worship, and family bonds have eroded. Your manner of life is heavily influenced by the type of employment you undertake. Single parents, divorced families, single persons, step-families, and divorced people are all examples of single people. Inequality in society has lessened. The demand for political participation has risen.
  • The United States is a modern postindustrial society. We rely on factories and goods manufactured by machines. Almost everything is done with an electric device. Many jobs are used to aid in the processing of information. There is no dominant religion, and all genders are treated equally. Although social status is less important, government officials and those with more money tend to wield more power.
