  • Red Blood Cells or RBC are the most common type of blood and their main job is to deliver oxygen throughout your body. They look like little red basketballs. Let's learn more about the circulatory system!
  • THESE ARE RED BLOOD CELLS --
  • Oh yeah! I have heard of these before. They are a important part of the circulatory system as well as WBC, platelets, and plasma!
  • 1: Hey Molly! Do you know anything about WBC or White blood cells?
  • 2: Wow! I didn't know they fought off diseases! Thanks for explaining it to me!
  • WHITE BLOOD CELLS---
  • 1. Hey Sam! Yes, I do actually! white blood cells, (also known as WBC) are a type of blood in your body that eat germs and protect you from not getting sick. They basically help your body fight infection.
  • 2: Of course! If you have any more questions, ask away!
  • Sure! Plasma is the liquid form of blood. Plasma is also 92% water and you need it to take in nutrients, hormones, and proteins to the parts of the body that need it.
  • Platelets are very large cells in your bone marrow called megakaryocytes. If you don't have platelets, it's hard to stop bleeding.
  • Hey grandma, in school we are learning about plasma and platelets. Can you tell me more about them?
