While Saint Ignatius (Inigo) was bravely leading the Spanish military a cannonball was shot out from the French and flew past his leg. It smashed into a brick wall and shards of rock and wood shattered his leg. The French carried him to the hospital. That night he was expected to die, but he didn't. There was bad technology so he read the life of Christ and a book about the saints. When he thought about serving God that was what made him happy. Instead of wanting to be a Knight, he wanted to serve God.
