- EXPOSITION: The White family are at home on a stormy night. Their friend visits and shows them a magical monkey's paw that can grant three wishes. He warns them that it brings bad consequences. Mr. White wishes for 200 to pay their house loan.
- RISING ACTION: The next day, Herbert goes to work. later, a man from Herbert's workplace arrives and tells them Herbert died in a machine accident. The company gives them 200 as a compensation-the exact amount wished for.
- Deslizar: 2
- CLIMAX: Mrs. white becomes desperate and tells Mr. White to use the paw to wish Herbert back to life. Mr. White makes the second wish. Later that night, they hear knocking on the door, And Mrs. rushes to open it. believing Herbert has returned.
- Deslizar: 3
- FALLING ACTION: Mr. White is terrified because Herbert's body was badly damaged. He quickly uses the monkey's paw to make the third wish before Mrs. White opens the door.
- RESOLUTION: The knocking stops. Mrs. White opens the door, but no one is there. Herbert is gone, and the family is left in sadness, realizing the paw's wishes only brought pain.
