- I know! We add Maine as a state and to make it more fair we should make it to where slavery can not be allowed above the 36 30 line!
- How are we going to solve the problem of Missouri wanting to be a slave state?

- I think we should let the local government's of new Mexico and Utah territory choose if they want to be free or a slave state.
- I also think we should add California as a free state because it will keep the balance between free and slave states!

- How will we get the souths support of anything we are doing?
- Both these territories are above the 36 30 line so what should we do?
- What are we going to do about this?
- I know! We can give the south a chance for these places to be slave states but that means we must remove the rule about the 36 30.
- I think we should introduce this thing into the territories called popular sovereignty. Its where the people of the state vote if its free or a slave state!
- We need a solution... quick!
