Montag found it strange that Clarisse wasn't around anymore, Later on asking Mildred if she knew if she had seen her, Mildren tells montag that she only knew that Clarisse was dead. Montag felt sick to his stomach finding she was run over the night they last talked.

The firemen (Montag, Beatty, and the rest), Recieve a call and pull up to the house unexpectedly ended up being at montage's house, beatty knew all along he had the books, Mildred let them know and her friends what he was really doing.
While Mildred disappeared, Montag had to suffer the truth him having to burn his own house down. Beatty taunts him to the point he couldn't take it anymore he burns him alive and the rest.
Montags on the Run with the help of the professor but still in danger. Everyone looks out their windows while the mechanical hound haunts his scent.
