  • Deslizar: 1
  • Today, we will be talking about Cuba and what role it played in the cold war, from an underlying communist to soviet aid!
  • Deslizar: 2
  • Initially, America was siding with Cuba through the revolution, but when Fidel Castro came into play everything went downhill. He was making some crazy moves and honestly anyone would've been opposed to their property being altered/tampered with.
  • When America saw this, they retracted support. In the midst of a Cold War, the Soviets saw this as a major opportunity to spend some quality time with Cuba. America was not very fond of the fact that the Soviets were supplying Cuba with missiles and demanded they removed them at once. This demand apparently did not stick. The Soviets refused. For 13 days, tensions between America and the Soviets grew.
  • Deslizar: 3
  • On the 13th day, the Soviets removed their missiles and America pledged not to invade Cuba. Nothing ever happened between the Soviets and America.
  • For a little opinionated response, I think the Cold War was quite funny. Both sides were pretty passive aggressive, and it made me think of children squabbling over the most insignificant matters. Also, Fidel Castro weakened Cuba under the Soviet aid because he was Communist and his ignorance absolutely cooked the Cubans... yikes?
