You might be wondering... What exactly is the EPA? Our group protects the health of humans AND the environment. Today, I will be showing you some common things humans do that are causing harm to our environment.
Welcome to our first stop, the gas station. Most cars use gas, which is a fossil fuel. They are very bad for our Earth, and can cause climate change, which makes the temperature rise. Gas is a non-renewable source, so we should do our best to use less of it.
Next, we are going to look at the water to make sure it is suitable for all of this wildlife. Oh no! The dissolved oxygen levels are too low. There is also high turbidity. This is not good for the environment. This pond does not have any stone files, which is a bio indicator that this pond has lower dissolved oxygen.
Now, we are at a farm. It looks like this farmer guy is using fertilizer on his fields. This is not good because it can be carried into our local freshwater and contaminate it with nitrates and phosphates.
Wow, there sure are many animals here. I hope their waste gets cleaned up, otherwise it can end up in the water and cause disease.
