- Mr. Jones is the owner of Manor Farm. He is always drunk and does not treat the animals very well.

- All the animals gathered in the barn for a meeting once Mr. Jones went to sleep.

- We need to rebel against humans (Man). Humans are the reason we suffer. We are treated like slaves!
- Comrades (friends), listen to me. I am going to die soon. I need to tell you something very important.

- The animals sang Old Major's song over and over, until Mr. Jones woke up and shot his gun into the sky. Everyone went to sleep and left the barn quickly.
