- Why was the ACE movement started?
- The movement started in order to mobilize Asian Americans in multi-racial solidary campaigns, promote Asian consciousness, and to fight against anti-Asian sentiment. People also wanted to be in solidary with a local African American civil rights movement.
- Now, were there any changes as a result of this movement?
- YES

- Things were going well, and everything was going the way we wanted. Firstly, The University of Washington's FIRST Asian American student organization was made.
- Next, the state's FIRST Asian American history course was created, and social clubs were to accept all people of color.

- There was a lot of mistrust between Japanese and Chinese and Filipinos at that time. Mainly because we didn't know each other, and that was one of the reasons why we formed the Asian Coalition, ACE, to get to know each other. And through that the four Filipinos, the four Japanese, the four Chinese were able to recruit more persons from their own ethnic community to get together...
