  • Act 1 Scene 2
  • I fear that Roman are plotting to make Caesar King.
  • I believe that it is wrong for a common Roman to be revered above all others. You are as honorable as Brutus.
  • Act 1 Scene 3
  • I saw a slave burning but not affected, a lion at the capitol, and an owl in broad daylight.
  • We are killing Julius as a sacrifice to the gods and that we aren’t murderers, we want as little bloodshed as possible. Anthony is nothing without Caesar
  • Act 2 Scene 1
  • What about Anthony? We must kill him as well.
  • In this scene, Cassius asks why Brutus has been unkind recently, and Brutus responds that he has been preoccupied. Hearing the gathering, Brutus fears that the Romans are plotting to make Caesar king. When Cassius notices Brutus' dissatisfaction, he adds that he believes it is wrong for a common Roman to be revered above all others. This scene is important for the plot sequence because this is when Cassius started the consiparcy.
  • Act 2 Scene 2
  • l
  • Casca claims that, despite having witnessed many dreadful things in nature, nothing compares to the terrifying weather of this night. He wonders if there is war in heaven, or if the gods are so enraged by humanity that they aim to wipe it out. Casca argues that they are omens of impending danger. This is important in the plot sequence because it has bad omens showing that something bad is to come.
  • Act 2 Scene 3
  • 'Caesar, beware of Brutus. Be careful of Cassius. Don't go near Casca. Look out for Cinna. Don't trust Trebonius. Watch out for Metellus Cimber. Decius Brutus is not a friend to you. You have wronged Caius Ligarius. All these men are of one mind, and it is turned against you. If you're not immortal, watch out. Overconfidence leads the way to conspiracy. May the mighty gods defend you! With love,Artemidorus'
  • In this scene, Brutus denies killing Anthony saying that we are killing Julius as a sacrifice to the gods and that we aren’t murderers, we want as little bloodshed as possible. He also refers to Anthony as the arm of Caesar, mentioning that if Caesar isn’t there then Anthony will grieve for a little bit and then forget about it. This scene is important in the plot sequence because we are given information on how Anthony will behave but this sets up the perfect opportunity for Anthony to behave exactly the opoosite.
  • Act 2 Scene 4
  • Do you know of anyone intending to harm  Caesar?
  • I do not know for certain that anything will occur, but there is much I fear that could happen.
  • Calpurnia dreams that Caesar is murdered, and his‌ ‌monument‌ ‌dripping‌ ‌with‌ ‌blood‌ ‌like‌ ‌a‌ ‌fountain,‌ ‌with‌ ‌many‌ ‌happy‌ ‌Romans bathing‌ ‌their‌ ‌hands‌ ‌in it. This scene is important in the plot sequence because this is another bad omen and it gives the reader an idea of what could happen in the upcoming scenes.
  • This scene of Artemidorus writing a letter to Caesar is important because it is another moment in which if Caesar gets to know about it he could save himself from dying, this intensifies the death of Caesar. The letter lists the names of all of the conspirators like Brutus, Cassius, Decesius Brutus, Casca, Cinna, Trebonius, etc. In the second to last line, he says if you aren’t immortal watch out. This line foreshadows what is to come.
  • This scene of Portia talking to Lucius, and the Soothsayer is important in the plot sequence because the soothsayer tells her that he is afraid about what can happen to Caesar. This keeps the reader invested as it is another time a character shows concern for the possible death of Caesar.
