- Yes!, This is because of Newton's first law, which states that an object in motion stays in motion and an objest stays at ret unless an unbalanced force acts on it.
- OMG! My seatbelt stopped me from moving forward.
- Yes, exactly! Newton's first law saved you!
- Oh! So basically, the seatbelt is the unblanced force in this case and stopped my body's inertia?
- GOALLLL!!!!!!
- Yeah! I did it. Now your turn.
- This is because of Newton's second law. This law states that the acceleration of an object depends on two things: the net force acting upon the object and the mas of the object.
- Wait! How come your ball always goes farther than mine and faster?
- So basically, since I kick the ball with more force it goes faster and farther. So since you kick with less force, your ball doesn't go as far or as quick as mine.
- I don't get it.
- Ohh! I remeber Dr.R teaching us about this.
