- Jason gets up early in the morning to do shipbuilding. He is a shipbuilder who supports his small family of 3. His job can be difficult at times because of the strange weather changes. On the ship there are multiple men building on it while the women are back home cooking and doing housework.
- Their colony was known as the "breadbasket". Jason has a wife, Kriste, and they chose to live here because of the nice weather and good soil, and that made it easy to plant crops. This was one of the ways they made money and that was also a way for them to have food.
- The people also process wood into beams and planks, which is called lumber and they can use that lumber to build houses/shakes and they can use them to build fires.

- Many different groups of people lived there, like the Germans, Scott-Irish, French Huguenots, Welsh, Dutch, Swedes, Swiss, Sots Highlands. In those groups, there were men, women, and children. The men went to work while the women stayed back at the house cooking and dealing with the children.
- They also moved here because there was religious freedom. People could choose whatever religion they wanted. Some examples of these religions are Quakers, Catholics, Mennonites, Jews, and Lutherins.
- Their government was ruled by Charter Government and a Royal Government. The Charter Government did not make many decisions but the people did. For the Royal Government, they had power over everyone and made all the decisions.
