I was scared for my life, indeed I was. Then I got thinking, and realized I had to put my needs aside and that the Franks were more in need than I was. I loved that family, and wanted them to strive just as well as I did.
So Mrs. Gies, what were you thinking while you helped the Frank family?
I wanted to help the Franks because when Otto Frank asked me if I was ready to take care of his family while they were in hiding, I said yes for a reason. You should always help those who are in need or in trouble, so I would sneak to their hiding place and give them clothes and food to last them.
Well, why did you want to help the Frank family?
