- Once there was a farmer who lived alone in Sumatra since he loves fishing, he went to the river one day and caught a beautiful goldfish.
- The goldish turned into a beautiful lady. She attracted Batara Guru so much. He fell in love with that fish-woman.
- I must be hallucinating right now...
- Please don't be frightened. I'm a person, too— and somewhat, I was cursed— but you saved me! And I'll be your wife in exchange.
- He was surprised to find out that the fish could talk. The fish begged him to set it free Batara Guru could not bear it.
- Please don't eat me! I'll--I'll stay with you--I'll be your wife if you don't eat me!!
- The woman wanted to marry him and said that Batara Guru had to keep the secret, which she had been a fish. Batara Guru agreed and promised that he would never tell anybody about it
- I promise.
- However you must promise me... that you must not tell anyone-ANYONE that I was a fish.
- They were married happily. They daughter.Their child grew and became a mischievous and disobedient girl and his father started to become annoyed of his daughter's antics.
- Batara Guru broke his promise and got the word of fish to his daughters instead. The earth began to shake and volcanoes started to erupt. People believed that the big hole became a lake, today it is known as Toba Lake.
- The woman wanted to marry him and said that Batara Guru had to keep the secret, which she had been a fish. Batara Guru agreed and promised that he would never tell anybody about it
