  • Show parents how classroom behavior will be monitored, positively reinforced, and the steps taken to correct behavior outside norms and expectations. Parents will also be giving positive behaviors, not just negative ones.

  • Gather evidence from behavior log, reconfirm meeting with parent/guardian, and have a few plans of actions ready to suggest.

  • Communicate some of the positive behaviors their child has had in the class. Then move to the issue at hand. Use data collected in behavior log.

  • Make a plan of action with the parent. Offer suggestions if asked. Finally, review the plan of action to minimize confusion.

  • Send a follow up email and a typed up plan of action for the parent/guardian to have.Continue to document behaviors and contact parents/guardian if necessary.
