I'm the oldest... They should put me in charge of my sister!
We need you guys to be responsible while we are gone!
How Costa and McCrae Sees Me
It's an opinion. How can it be wrong?
YOUR OPINION IS WRONG!!!!!
Sigmund Freud's Psychoanalytic theory states that personality is influenced by unconscious motives and conflicts and that the only two motivators for humans are sex and aggression. Therefore we can assume that Freud would believe I play hockey to fulfill my unconscious aggressive desires that are not socially acceptable elsewhere.
How Bandura Sees Me
If I go in the cave alone my friends will think I'm super brave!
Alfred Adler was a supporter of birth order theory. This theory suggests that the order in which we and our siblings are born can effect our personalities. Since birth order can effect us as we strive for superiority, it makes sense that I would try to earn some power using my age.
How Rodgers Sees Me
I don't need you to hold the door for me!
Paul Costa and Robert McCrae are supporters of the Big 5 factors for personality. One of their factors, Neuroticism, can describe a person's emotional stability. According to their definition I would have low Neuroticism because I have a high emotional stability to defend my opinion against a crowd.
How Eyesenck Sees Me
Blah Blah BlahBlah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah
Albert Bandura's Social-Cognitive perspective of personality describes the spotlight effect where an individual overestimates how much others notice and evaluate us. In this example, I think that going into the cave will me make look cool to my friends but in reality they don't even notice.
I wonder what I should eat for lunch today?
Carl Rodgers was a support of Humanistic Theories of personality. He believed that all people are basically good unless they are impacted by the environment which can turn them bad. In this example, it was natural of me to hold the door but now that I was yelled at for doing so, I will second-guess this choice next time which could lead to me being a worse person in the long run.
I'll remember that next time I try to be nice.
Hans and Sybil Eyesenck were supporters of the trait theory. They believed that genetics played a major role in determining our personality. In this example they would say that my friend and I have low normal brain arousal because our extraversion is the way we seek to raise that arousal level.
