- This is where Amontillado told us about his plan about getting revenge on fortunato, he stated "The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge". This creates suspense by using the suspense element "The reader understands the villains motives, even though the characters may not."
- REVENGE
- This scene is where amontillado convinces fortunato to go to his house, but shockingly none of his staff was there wat that exact moment. Amontillado later explains this by saying "I had told them that I should not return until the morning, and had given them explicit orders not to stir from the house"so for this scene I give it the suspense element of "hardly ever any coincidences."
- This is where Amontillado lures in Fortunato in his basement by convincing him with the wine, he tells him "The pipe," he said. "It is farther on," said I; "but observe the white web-work which gleams from these cavern walls. In the previous quote Amontillado uses a suspense element called Red herrings where you mislead someone else.

- In this scene We are brought to a new setting the introduction introduces it of being lined with human remains " Its walls had been lined with human remains, piled to the vault overhead". This uses the suspense element of "all five senses are represented, because in this quote it is setts a dark quote for the rest of the paragraph.
- In this scene Amontillado hears the voice of fortunato this he describes the voice as this "It was succeeded by a sad voice, which I had difficulty in recognizing as that of the noble Fortunato." This creates suspense by creating a major plot-twist and it uses the suspense element of "Each scene, chapter, event ends on a “hook”.
