- horizontal component cos 40^ = v/80 m/s
- vertical component sin 40^ = vy/ 80 m/s vy (80 m/s)(sin 40)=51.44 m/s

- A sports car is traveling at a constant velocity v=5.0 m/s. The driver steps on the gas and the car accelerates forward. After 10.0 seconds, the driver stops accelerating and maintains a constant velocity v=25.0 m/s. What is the cars acceleration?
- Here is an acceleration problem. The formula is Vf-Vi /time.
- a= Vf-Vi/time a=25.0 m/s - 5.00m/s 10.0 s a= 2 m/s^2 forward is the direction because the number is positive.
- What is velocity? Velocity is a physical vector quantity; both magnitude and direction are needed to define it.
- Okay, got it! So there is a direction and magnitude!
- The the distance and the direction, like north west and south east, right?
- Yes , that is right!
- Can we talk about conversions ?
- Like what types of conversions?
- Like what type of measurement is larger or smaller! So like this, which is larger 500 mm or 5 meters?
- So 1 meter equals a 1000 mm. so 500 mm = 0.5 meters which is less that 5 meters so 5 meters is larger.
- So this is an example of yards and 3 feet equals one yard. So if a football field is 100 yards, then it equals 300 feet, right? Because i take 3 feet and multiply by 100 yards and you get 300 feet. Okay I think I am getting this figured out. Thanks.
- So how about another type of conversion?
- How many hours are in 2 days? Okay so first how many hours are in one day? Thinking 24 hours. So then you multiply that by 2 days and you get the answer.....
- Ok I think velocity is gonna be on the test too. What is that formula? d=v * t
