But aren't they the same thing?
No Jasper,we have a state government the white house is the home of the President that runs our country.

The difference is that our state government can control things in their state.
Okay but what does the President do?
Our Federal Government maintains the whole country.
So like a king?
No Jasper,the president maintains the country by running it while the state government maintains the state they govern
Oh okay but is there an in between?

Yes there is an in between when both the input of both the President and the state government are needed.
For example like when they both collect our taxes
But what can they do by themselves?
The Federal government can print money is an example of what they can do and an example that the start government can do is that provide a driver's license but only for that state not the country.
