  • Hamlet learns the truth about his father's death from the ghost. It is revealed that Claudius murdered the king and Hamlet shall take blood revenge.

  • Claudius, the new King, is Hamlet's uncle. Hamlet is still grieving over his father's death and privately expresses his disgust towards his mother, Gertrude.
