Craig Venter

Hello, my name is John Craig Venter and today I'm going to tell you who I am.
I have received numerous awards and recognitions for my contributions to science and genomics, but these primarily focus on my professional and scientific achievements.
I was born on October 14, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States.
I earned my bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego, and his doctorate in physiology and pharmacology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
All of this allowed me to become a prominent figure in human genome research. He founded the Human Genome Research Institute (TIGR) in 1992, which was one of the first centers to sequence the genome of an organism.
After my work on the human genome project, I became interested in synthetic biology and the creation of genetically modified organisms. In 2010, my team and I announced the creation of the first synthetic organism, called Mycoplasma laboratorium, with a completely synthesized genome.
I have been an active businessman. I founded several companies, including Celera Genomics, Synthetic Genomics, and the J. Craig Venter Institute, which are dedicated to genomics research and biotechnology.
