The Vanishing Half- Reese

Reese loves Jude, when she's self-conscious he tells her, "'Act like i'm lying,' He said 'I ain't those people back home. Sometimes you act like you're still back there. But you're not, baby. we're new people here' (Bennett 149). They have both been through so much from people from their home so he knows how she feels. He loves her regardless and will always be there to tell her so.

He doesn't feel comfortable around Jude topless but one day he does this, "But he disappeared into the the bathroom and when he came back, he was shirtless bending over her in the bandaged wrapped around his chest. 'I need it,' he said" (Bennett 152). Reese truly can't feel comfortable in himself until he gets top surgery. He wants to but no matter how hard he tries this was the closest he's ever gotten.

One of the things Reese like to do is take pictures. He states, ",missing those weekends they used to spend chasing sunlight across the marina in search of the perfect shot. Reese biting his lip as the shutter clicked" (Bennett 238). Reese genuinely enjoys being a photographer and spending time with Jude. They've been so busy that they haven't been able to do this anymore and he misses it.
