- Baby I want you the get married and settled down with Logan Killicks
- This is character vs Character. In chapter 2-3 Janie's Grandmother wants her to marry Logan Killicks because she felt like Janie kissing Jonnny Taylor meant she was of age( becoming a woman). She wants Janie to settle down and have a nice taken care of future unlike the rest of the family.

- *Why don't that little black girl have on a dress like everyone else?*
- *Why is everyone laughing at me?*

- This is Person vs Society. In the beggining of the story Janie returns and all off the women are judging her and bad mouthing her as a character

- This is person vs Nature. In the story Janie acknowledges the pear tree that she always goes outside and sit under.She feels confident and at peace when she is at this tree. "oh to be a pear tree- any tree in bloom! With kissing bees singing of the beginning of the world! She was sixteen."

- I wish I could be unbothered or as tall as this tree.
