- Before human life existed, the earth was filled with only animals. It was the beginning of July in Florida, where it was hot, hot, hot! The temperature was 90 degrees and higher every day. Florida was always humid, and the air felt sticky.
- Chester was a non-spotted cheetah. It was known that animals with spots, at the time, were mean, selfish, avaricious, and bad animals. These spotted animals were known to be taken away from the community for good for wrongdoing or cheating.
- The community’s rules were set by Artemis, the Greek god of animals. He provided for the animals, making sure they all got along. The rules he set were to keep the animals alive and well.
- Chester was a good animal that got along with the other animals, but only because he had to. Chester was a big, golden brown cat, and so was Willis. Willis was Chester's friend, who was also a cheetah. Willis was very kind to everyone and had a good-hearted spirit. The only cheetahs allowed in this community had no spots.
- In the community, the animals did various activities. It was a rule that every animal had to play a sport to stay healthy. They had soccer teams, volleyball teams, basketball teams, you name it. Most cheetahs usually played soccer because of how fast they were. Chester and Willis agreed to play soccer together. There ended up being three soccer teams in the community. It seemed to be the most popular sport.
- The teams ended up with enough of each species. There was a team of gazelles, a team of wildebeests, and a team of cheetahs. Each team practiced for three weeks before the games began.
