- In the 1800s John Adams lost to Thomas Jefferson and before he left, Adams decided to create some new positions for people and they would be Federalists who he would hire.
- William Marbury was appointed by Adams as one of the new judges, but he didn't receive his commission before Jefferson became president and Marbury couldn't take office without the offical order.
- Hello James Madison, upon my arrival into office I would like to ask you not to deliver William Marbury's offical commission into office.
- Jefferson asked James Madison who was the secretary of state to not give Marbury his order into office. Marbury then went to the Supreme Court and and asked them to force Madison to deliver the order. It then became decision time for the Court and John Marshall wrote it in as Marbury vs Madison.
