EXPOSITION
CONFLICT
RISING ACTION
The forthcoming wedding of the Duke of Athens and the Queen of the Amazons is being planned. During the festivities, two young men, Demetrius and Lysander, encounter Hermia. Despite her affection for Lysander, both men fell in love with her, and her father wanted her to marry Demetrius.
CLIMAX
Hermia flees with her love after informing her friend Helena, who is in love with Demetrius, about her plan. Helena informs him with the aim of gaining his favor. They all end up chasing each other through the woods.
FALLING ACTION
Puck, a fairy in the woods, tries to settle the love triangle by making Lysander fall in love with Helena by mistake. He made Demetrius fall for her while attempting to fix the situation. Everyone now adores Helena, but no one adores Hermia.
DENOUEMENT
When the men fight for Helena, and Hermia is upset with Helena, Puck manages to keep them all apart so that they don't kill each other. Puck undoes the enchantment and fixes his mistake after they've fallen asleep.
While riding through the forest, the Duke stumbles across the lovers. He is confused after hearing their story but encourages them to marry during his wedding ceremony.
At the end of the day, everyone is married. The play "Pyramus and Thisbe" is presented, and Puck asks the audience to remember everything as if it were a dream at the end of the play.
