- Guy seats Sam and Delia on the couch D.R. and they discuss Guy's aspirations to get his designs to Paris. He pours them a glass of champagne. Leland's name gets brought up into the conversation as Angel is preparing Sam and Delia's tea. She crosses D.R. from the table to the sofa to serve them; then, someone else knocks at the door. Angel crosses U.C to answer the door revealing Leland. Angel then shows him to his seat D.R. and prepares his cup of tea.

- Angel just revealed to Guy her knowledge of him being fired from thenightclub. While they are talking, Angel is setting the table as they arepreparing to host a high tea party. They both hear Sam and Delia enter. Guy gets up from the couch and crosses U.C. to greet them
- BFABS-ACT 2 SCENE 1
- Leland feels as if he has intruded the conversation. They quickly jump to talking about Margaret Sanger and abortion. Leland then shares his thoughts on the subject leaving everyone feeling uncomfortable.
- BFABS-ACT 2 SCENE 1
- Delia asks about Guy's most romantic encounter. With enthusiasm, he proceeds to telling them about Langston Hughes' party the other night. He explains how there were some men gazing at another man, which upsets Leland.
- Leland gets up and bursts out in to anger. Infuriated, Guy tells Leland to leave as Angel attempts end the argument. Leland tries to gain his composure, then exits U.C. through the door. Sam and Delia also exit the apartment through the door U.C.
- Angel and Guy are both left in the apartment. They are seen arguing about what just transpired. She then conveys that she only wants Leland for financial security. Guy is ashamed of her.
