- Siddhartha Gautama was born to a wealthy family as a prince and raised in great luxury. 
- The Middle Way
- His father wished for him to be a conqueror and to choose a wealthier path of life. He did not want Siddhartha to be become a poor priest and kept him very guarded and on a path to be king. But what Siddhartha would encounter next would change his life forever...
- Siddhartha's Asceticism
- One day, Siddhartha decided to go a chariot ride with just him and his driver and along would encounter " The Four Passing Sights". First he came across a weak old man this caused him to realize that you won't be young forever, then a sick man and he was shocked because he has never seen anyone sick due to his wealthy and sheltered upbringing. Next he saw a corpse of a man and lastly he came across a holy man.
- Siddhartha Achieves Nirvana
- As he grew up he decided to choose a life of poverty but he found that way of life not to fulfill him. This led him to define a way of life known as the Middle Way. This was his way of life a life without any social indulgences but without depriving himself. During this journey in life he decided to become an ascetic and he came across four passing sights.
- After these passing sights Siddhartha decided he did not want material things and was now an ascetic; meaning that he would have deny himself.
- After awhile he realized being ascetic was not a fit for him and chose not to deny himself and began meditating under a tree to become enlightened. He promised to himself to teach others how to become enlightened once he had finally reached enlightenment
