The Olympics
You might have heard of the Olympics which if you haven’t is a very large sporting event that happens every 4 years. People from all over the world are invited to compete. The Ancient Greeks started it and it has been going on for thousands of years.
In Ancient Greece there wasn't as many sports as there are now the most famous then was the pentathlon.
If you won in a competition you wouldn't win a medal you would win a laurel wreath which was sort of like a crown

Theater
Have you ever seen a play or a musical or even seen theater of any kind. Did you know that the Ancient Greeks created it. They would make masks of monsters and gods and preform for the public and sometimes kings. It was greatly enjoyed and some of these plays are still preformed today.
They had large theaters that could house hundreds of people
They also created Pulleys and they would use the pulleys to lift actors off the stage and make them appear like they were flying

Mathematics
We all use math every day and the Greeks didn't create it but they did revolutionise it. They were he first people to realise that the number 0 is very important
They also created Geometry which greatly impacts today and helped them plan how much space they would need for crops
It was because of their mastery in math that they were able to be really good at engineering and that they created amazing buildings
