- Sally just got her first dog on one condition... that she trains it!Her first step is to train her dog (Charlie) to respond to a clicker.
- At this point the clicker is the unconditioned or neutral stimuli
- Every time sally clicks the clicker she gives Charlie a treat!
- The unconditioned response is Charlie salivating after receiving a treat!

- The clicker has now become the conditioned stimulus!
- Now every time Sally clicks the clicker, Charlie comes running expecting a treat!
- When Charlie hears the click she starts salivating expecting a treat, this is the conditioned response!
