The Boston Massacre was a deadly riot on March 5, 1770 on King Street in Boston. It began as a street brawl between American Colonists and a lone British soldier, it quickly escalated to a chaotic, bloody slaughter.
-The Loyalists believed that independence would mean the loss of economic benefits derived from membership in the British mercantile system.-The Patriots wanted to be free from Great Britain because they felt separate from the Loyalists. They were being taxed unfairly. So then they created The Declaration of Independence.
The Declaration of Independence is the founding document of the United States. It was adopted on July 4, 1776.
