- Rainsford has fallen out of his ship while trying to reach for his pipe.
- Rainsford and general zaroff travel about the island, and spending time at the castle sometimes with Ivan coming along too.
- Whitney starts to talk about all the physical toughness and exercise he will be putting Rainsford through. so that he will have a fair fight against him.
- general zaroff has now let rainsford go and is going to begin to hunt him in three days.
- rainsford kills general zoraff and sleeps in his bed
