- Rising action:Della is going everywhere to go find a present for Jim she goes to the stores and can't afford anything
- This is the major conflict when Della goes and sells her hair for the chain
- This is the climax of the story when we find out that she cut her hair for the chain for his watch and we found out that Jim sold his watch for her Hair
- falling action: was that both of the sat down and ate their chops
- Conclusion: That you don't have to get a gift to show you love somebody symbolism:the chops were the only thing they could look forward to.
